Eighth-grader. Has used a fidget, extended time, and a quiet test space for two years. Now wants to opt out of all of it because of a comment a peer made. I don't want to override their voice but I also know they need it.

From an adult who masked through high school: ask them what they'd choose if no one were watching. Then ask what would make 'being watched' less of a thing — sometimes it's a different cover story for the accommodation, not removing it.
