How do I ask school for accommodations without sounding like I am making excuses?

Frame accommodations as access to learning, not special treatment. You can say: 'We are trying to reduce barriers so my child can show what they know.' Bring specific examples and specific asks: movement breaks, written instructions, sensory options, chunked assignments, or a check-in point. Specific is harder to dismiss than general worry.
